Portugal residency from Dubai

We handle Portugal residency from Dubai on all three main routes:

  • D7 Visa (passive income): for pensions, rental income, dividends or investment income. Portugal D7 Visa
  • D8 Digital Nomad Visa (remote work): for remote employees and freelancers with clients abroad. Portugal Digital Nomad
  • D2 Visa (entrepreneurs): for founders and independent professionals. Portugal D2 Entrepreneur

D7, D8 and D2 are the market's names. Portugal's own visa portal uses none of them: it publishes these as the residency visa for people living from passive income, the residency visa for a professional activity done remotely, and the residency visa for a professional activity. All three are residence routes, not temporary stay visas. Each includes family, travel across the 29 Schengen countries while resident, access to Portugal's SNS national health service, and eligibility to apply for permanent residency after 5 years of legal residence, subject to nationality-law requirements.

Portugal residency FAQs

Which Portugal visa is right for me?

Passive income points to the D7. A salary or clients abroad point to the D8. Starting or moving a business points to the D2.

Can I use my salary for the D7?

Consulates increasingly refuse D7 files built on active salary. Salaried remote workers should apply for the D8.

Can my family move with me?

Yes. Your spouse and dependent children can be included on all three routes.

Can Portugal residency lead to citizenship?

You become eligible to apply after 5 years of legal residence, subject to nationality-law requirements.
