Editorial policy
This page explains how the guides on this website are researched, written and kept current, and how to tell us if you find something wrong.
How our guides are researched
Every statement in our guides about a government procedure, a required document, a fee, a deadline or a penalty is taken from an official source and linked to that source in the text. Official means the authority that actually sets the rule — for example the UAE Federal Tax Authority, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, ICP, GDRFA Dubai, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, the Dubai Land Department, the Dubai legislation portal, or the equivalent ministry in the country that issued a document.
We do not repeat figures or procedures from other agencies’ websites, business-setup blogs or news reports. If we cannot find a statement on an official page, one of two things happens:
- we leave it out; or
- where it is something readers genuinely need, we include it and say plainly that it is our working practice rather than a published rule.
You will see that second case marked in the text with wording such as “no official page states…” or “in practice…”. We would rather tell you where the official record stops than present our experience as law.
Government fees
Where we quote a government fee or fine, we name the authority or the legal instrument it comes from and, where the figure could date, the period it applies to. Government fees change, and several published schedules are older than the services they govern. Always confirm a current figure with the authority or with us before you budget from it.
We do not publish our own prices in guides. For a quotation on your own case, please ask us directly.
How often guides are reviewed
Each guide carries a “Last reviewed” date at the top. We review every guide at least twice a year, and sooner when an authority announces a change that affects it. When a guide is revised, the review date updates.
Who writes them
Guides are written and reviewed by the team at AL HUDHUD Documents Clearing Services, a Dubai company licensed by the Department of Economy and Tourism under Professional Licence No. 1071555, working in document clearing and PRO services since 2022.

If you spot something out of date, unclear or simply wrong, please tell us — it helps every other reader.
