A UK visit visa from Dubai, officially the Standard Visitor visa, lets you visit the United Kingdom for up to 6 months per visit. It covers tourism, visiting family or friends, business activities such as meetings, conferences, negotiations and trade fairs, short courses of up to 6 months, and private medical treatment.
You apply online, then attend a visa application centre in the UAE for your fingerprints and photo. The Home Office decides on your funds, the purpose of your trip, and whether you will leave the UK at the end of your visit. - Employer letter on company letterhead with your role, salary and length of employment, or an NOC
- For business owners: trade licence, business registration documents or recent invoices
- Copies of previous passports and visas showing your travel history
- Confirmed travel and accommodation details
- Invitation and host documents for family visits, and sponsor evidence if someone else is paying (their funds, your relationship, and their UK status)
- For under-18s: birth certificate, a parent's passport copy, and signed parental consent if travelling without a parent
- Full, verifiable translations of any document not in English or Welsh

Do UAE nationals need a UK visa?
Nationals of some countries, including the UAE, use an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) instead of a visa. Most other nationalities living in the UAE need a Standard Visitor visa. We check your nationality first.
Can I work on a UK visit visa?
No. You cannot do paid or unpaid work for a UK company. Permitted business activities such as meetings, conferences and negotiations are allowed.
